James asks: "I know we're not supposed to worship idol's but what about if you become an idol is it still idolatry?"
Ahhhhhhhh, the REAL question in all of this is "who owns the idols?" Very much like the Church has traditionally owned our icons/idols and other religions own theirs these "Australian Idols" are very much owned by the powers and rulers of the religious structures. The contracts they sign give away much of their own personal rights and financial benefits, the schedule they have to follow is not up to them to decide. And after the show they most likely have signed away their "image" so that it does not change, this will allow the producers and companies to continue the spreading of their "religious material." After this they aren't humans any more, they are idols, controlled and looked after by the leaders of the religious structures that created them. is this too deep?
