Dear UCA friends,

It seems that God came to and for the Americans.

See the following message I received from an American acquaintance. The
Flash message at the web site is the clincher.

Best wishes,
Peter

Dear Friend;

In the United States of America, July 4 is a date of great significance. On
July 4, 1776,
the American Colonies declared their independence from British rule. That
day was only
the beginning of an arduous path. But today, largely because of the deeds
of courageous
men facing overwhelming odds, America is a free nation. Almost 200 years
later,
Americans were able to come to the defense of their once bitter British
allies--twice
within the span of a few decades, and we now enjoy good relations and free
trade with
our cousins across the Atlantic.

It is by the grace of God Almighty that Americans enjoy such a bounteous
land
of prosperity. Many, many Americans may forget to thank the Lord for His
grace
and mercy. But I pray that we will be faithful to praise Him that His
"marvelous
lovingkindness" is extended to those who trust in Him (Psalm 17:7).
In remembrance of America's Independence Day, I also want to honor our
soldiers
who have given their lives, suffered great injuries, and left their families
behind to
defend our nation. Specifically, I want to say thank you to our soldiers now
risking
their lives, and to those who have given their lives, in the Middle East.

This Flash presentation features the text of a letter written by a
soldier at the Battle of Midway, a decisive battle fought in the
Pacific during War World II. The images are, for the most part,
current photos of our troops stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The music is "Amazing Grace" as performed by the United States Air
Force Band.

This presentation was put together by my good friend, Kenneth Hicks,
the gentleman who also did the "God of All Comfort" movie posted on
my site here:

Ken graciously donated his time to produce this presentation as his
own "thank you" to our troops. This presentation is not for sale, it
is offered for free viewing on the Web as a July 4th tribute to the
armed services and their families. Please feel free to share it with
your friends and families. Regardless of your opinion concerning the
current military actions overseas, please remember these brave
individuals are putting themselves in harm's way in our stead. Pray
for their safe return.

If you would like to do more to support our soldiers, visit the
Web address below for more information:

I pray that God's blessings once again come to the forefront of our
minds as we approach July 4. For those of you reading this message
overseas, wherever you are, and whatever your circumstances, God
loves you, and His grace is not exclusive to any country, tongue or tribe.

"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number,
of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the
throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their
hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which
sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb." - Revelation 7:9, 10 (KJV)

Saved by His amazing grace,
Scott Kinney
