terror warnings boost Bush's approval

John Maynard, quoting "The Age" wrote: "When the US government issues a 
terrorism warning, the president's approval rating increases an average 
of nearly three points, a Cornell University sociologist says ..."

Interesting that the research says nothing about whether or not there is 
any substance to the warnings. In other words, it is wide open to 
manipulation by the unscrupulous.
