Sorry to spoil the cynicism (and fun?), but the ads were certainly still
being shown during the election campaign.  I noticed a few of them in the
weeks leading to the election.  They were regularly shown on SBS and from
memory on Ten as well.  The ads are commissioned by the Australian Federal
Police and are therefore considered not to be political advertising.  I
guess it is up to the individual to contemplate on the amount of government
intervention in the design and broadcast of such materials.
