Folks,
I'm communicating off of my Debian 2.0 Linux desktop installation while
trying to get an Inspiron 3000 installation functional.

1) The disk based Debian 2.0 installation process was trouble free.
2) The regular boot process (called by LOADLIN from within WIN95
config.sys)
proceeded upto "configuring serial options" during which it hung. Enter
Rescue Disk
3) This 1st serial problem was bypassed by moving
/etc/rc.boot/0setserial temporarily out of rc.boot. Currently the
boot process is hanging in the pcmcia configuration, which I'll by
similarly bypass temporarily.

I've searched the mail list archives, but having found mention of
problems at the setserial stage.

Any ideas?
Would a few of you return your serial port settings.

Thanks

Marv Stodolsky
