I have installed Redhat 5.1 on my inspiron 7k. I ran sndconfig and selected
the regular sound blaster, and set it to 220, IRQ 5, DMA 1, which is what my
sound card is set at in 98. The config program does not give me an error
when I use those settings.. but I do not hear the sample sound. I checked
my volume, but to no avail. The inspiron uses the ESS 1968 Maestro-2, which
is SB compatible. If someone has this working, let me know what settings
you have yours set at, or if you configured your sound card a different way.
