I'm using the 3com global modem, but there shouldn't be any difference between
the two. If you have an internal winmodem, you need to disable that first in
CMOS (unless you configure PCMCIA to use a different interrupt). Beyond
that, I didn't have to configure anything else. PCMCIA 3.05 worked right out
of the box for me on my I7K. (I ended up using the Oct 20 version which seems
to work well with my 3com575 ethernet card though).
my pcmcia.conf contains
PCMCIA=yes
PCIC=i82365
PCIC_OPTS=
CORE_OPTS=
CARDMGR_OPTS=
my pcmcia config.opts contains:
include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0x1000-0x17ff
include memory 0xc0000-0xfffff, memory 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff
include port 0xa00-0xaff
exclude irq 4
exclude irq 5
exclude irq 7
pcmcia was configured with cardbus support enabled (doesn't matter for a
modem).
