For me, at least, apm and closing the lid both put the machine in standby
mode. This means that the backlight is off, and some functions are
preumably spun down. However, it it still moving as evidenced by the heat
output and battery life.

I have suspend-to-disk mode set up (Win95 is on /dev/hda1). So suspend (Fn-A)
really saves the state out to a disk file and shuts the thing down as it
should. The only remaining problem for my 3200 is that I have to shut down
pcmcia-3.0.0 before suspending it, or I get a lock-up. Can anyone tell me
which version (if any) of pcmcia fixes this problem?
