That might work, but this is not going to be the only backup I will make, I
will make
sure I have a file-by-file backup as well.  The problem with raw backups is
that the
geometry of the partition you are restoring to MUST be exactly the same as the
one
backed-up from or it will not work.  This is from personal experience (many
years
ago though).
