They are slices on the 'system disk'.  The T1000 only supports one
disk (unless you use 2.5" SAS disks, but who can afford that?),
so not much choice there.  Does this mean the procedure is
different?  Obviously I'd have to tell the installer to preserve the
relevant slices.

What I did understand was that the ramifications of _not_ using
BFU was not having proper networking in my zones.  (The "shared"
networking doesn't work well at all together with IP forwarding in the
global zone.) Thankfully (for others), that is no longer the case.

Fair enough.  I guess the pickle is how to distribute this kind
of information to the right people when they will only come looking
for it after it is too late.
