Could be similar to defect 9124: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=9124 Can you try to enable verbose poweroff messages by setting the kernel variable psm_verbose to 7, e.g. by adding "set pcplusmp:psm_verbose=7" to /etc/system and a reboot.
