Here is the result of the test....

2) Logout from Gnome desktop
3) Selected "Command Prompt Login"
4) login as root at the console
5) mdb -K
6) acpi_poweroff:b
7) :c
8)poweroff
9) Output on the console:

<timestamp> <host> poweroff: initiated by root on /dev/console
<timestamp> <host> syslogd: going down on signal 15
propagating updated GRUB menu
syncing file system.... done

The power button turned orange (which is normally blue when power up). The 
computer hang there.
