Since you have provided very little information, here are a couple of options.

#1 Installing OpenSolaris in VirtualBox.
 You can download http://www.virtualbox.org/
Then download the opensolaris iso and install it in a virtual environment.
Pros: Very little impact on your running enviroment.
You can run XP and OpenSolaris at the same time
Since VB allows dynamic disk growth, you don't really use all the
defined space.

Cons: You need a system with decent processor and sufficient memory

#2 Installing OpenSolaris on bare metal
1. Get Gparted and resize NTFS or FAT32 system so that there is enough space
for OpenSolaris.
   you need at least 8GB.
2. Down load the Iso and boot off CD and install it.

Advantages:
 - Lower memory requirement than option #1

Cons:
- Need to carve out space. VirtualBox allows dynamic growth!!
- Only one OS is running at a time.
