Your best bet would probably be to download the current SXCE and
upgrade to that.  It's at least as new as 2008.11 (likely newer), and
based on the same source code.  The only difference is that 2008.11
uses a completely different installer and packaging system.

It's possible that there may be a mechanism to upgrade from a regular
System V packaging based Solaris distribution (such as SXDE or SXCE or
Solaris 10) to the new IPS-based OpenSolaris distribution (2008.11),
but that mechanism doesn't exist now.
