There actually seems to be something more going on to bump this memory
requirement up. I just tried installing Nevada 44 on a 512MB system, and all
three options are giving me "error 28: cannot fit into memory" (or something
close to that) when trying to load the miniroot.

Can it be that, dependent on the devices you have in a system, more memory
could be required?

To put this into perspective, I've been trying to build a system for a friend,
but was delayed waiting for an old system with 512MB to come my way when my old
SUSE system wouldn't load OS. Now I have one, and I _still_ can't build the
system. As I mentioned earlier, if I'm frustrated, what would a new user feel?
Even Windows XP would install on this system without problems.
