Same problem here on a fresh install. Most suggestions online seem to start with running svcs -x, which would make a lot of sense if svcs were on the live cd. It's not, though, so that's not exactly an option here.
I did add a '-v' to the boot args to see if anything telling was happening before this error. Not really -- no errors to report at all. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
