Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your suggestions on potential places we can get support from. We
will proceed accordingly.

Best regards,
Chathura

Hi Chathura,

Your draft is an interesting piece of work.

Three places you could go to look for support...

You might want to advertise it on the SARAH mailing list (subscribe via
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=SARAH&A=1). This mailing
list is a research-oriented forum for discussing work concerned with changes to
addressing and routing in the Internet specifically to facilitate new services
that have varied traffic delivery requirements.

The "Application Aware Networking" (APN) effort is a new drive at the edge of
the IETF to produce a way to mark traffic in the Internet so that it may be
given different handling (routing, queuing, etc.) by the routers. There is a
mailing list at https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/apn and we are planning a
first meeting at IETF-111 next month (https://www.ietf.org/how/meetings/111/).

The TEAS working group (https://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/teas/about/) is working
on "Network Slicing". One purpose of slicing is to produce a partition of a
network's resources in order to support enhanced connectivity services
(enhanced VPNs) that facilitate services like those you describe.
See https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-teas-ietf-network-slices/
and https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-teas-enhanced-vpn/ for more
information.

Best regards,
Adrian

Dear all,

Please find below our new draft submission on Tactile Internet Service
Requirements.

This draft introduces tactile internet use cases and service requirements
potentially to be used as input for further discussions and/or to be directly
addressed by IETF.

Comments and feedback are warmly welcome!

Best regards,
Chathura

A new version of I-D, draft-sarathchandra-tactile-internet-00.txt
has been successfully submitted by Chathura Sarathchandra and posted to the
IETF repository.

Name: draft-sarathchandra-tactile-internet
Revision: 00
Title: Tactile Internet Service Requirements
Document date: 2021-06-25
Group: Individual Submission
Pages: 11

Abstract:
The Tactile Internet refers to a new communication and networking
paradigm, which can provide low-latency, reliable and secure
transmission for real-time information such as control, touch, and
sensing/actuation in emerging tactile internet applications like
teleoperation, immersive virtual reality, and haptics communications.
The main goal of this document is: 1) to briefly introduce tactile
internet background and typical applications; 2) to identify
potential service requirements that can be addressed at the IETF or
   researched at the IRTF.
