Yeah ill be going with that something crucial had changed in the setup files causing this, you said that you need the control panel, its a bit of a long shot but have you installed the stock driver with its version and the just merely replace the driver files to 3.1 or does cause the crash as well. If you would be so kind could you jump into event viewer and tell us what the error report is saying.
