Those zip packages contain the video BIOS for those said graphcis
cards. To the end user, these mean absolutely nothing though. To
people with non-standard resolutions and refresh rates, these also
mean nothing (Intel releases the vbios to the end user, but retardly
don't release the tool to customize the vbios...)

But if your curious, you could flash this with your main system bios
to update the vbios on your system and get better performance
possibly. The 950GMA also has the vbios package, but its included only
in the XP driver and its latest is 1585. It doesn't work on my
1280x800 resolution, and only has a max of 1024x768 for me (30% of my
screen is black, even in post).

I tried flashing the 965 vbios to my system but it resulted in a black
screen on startup (which kinda scared me because I knew nothing about
bios recovery).

The vbios may unlock things however that are awesome, such as the
ability to make a mobile 950GMA a desktop 950gma, and maybe even end
up having higher clock speeds and performance. However, I think the
vbios also checks the device id, and in that case, you would have to
modify your DSDT to make the 950gma appear as another card, such as
that from a desktop.

So the vbios would be a great thing to mess with, but you better have
recovery options available before hand (Crysis recovery disk, dual
bios, extra flash chip with stock bios on it, etc)
