They stopped producing RD Ram was due to high manufacture cost and not
enough consumers actually purchasing it, Consumers didn't buy it because it
was very very expensive, you had to buy to sticks for it to work and they
had to be EXACTLY the same and the same would follow if You intended on
upgrading. RAM speed will have about as much chance of causing battery life
to decrease as having a small dishwashing cloth slow down a Austin Martin
DB9.

To tell the truth I wouldn't spend much on premium rams as the base
chipset won't take advantage of it. 945GSE is the most limited
chipset, not supporting dual channel nor dimms faster than 533. The
important thing would be to have all modules of the same size and
brand if possible, as to diminish any chance for instability. And
lower latency is only worth if the difference between regular and
lower latency rams is small, as the speed difference is quite small as
well.

RD ram could be great, faster than anything else, but they didn' solve
the too high latency issues paired with a high manufacturing cost.
It's funny though that you see RD ram at speeds at least 2000MHz on
the PS3 :)
Your ram was working at the right speed, you forgot to multiply the
value.
