T_T I already expect that answer. because it's already uninstalled,
the information might already disappear, too.
I do agree to consider that was happened because some improper
installations, though.

...actually I'm afraid I've made some bad assumptions about this,
that's why I was just asking about the driver only without any further
explanation what I'm going to do (if I happen to get it).
to be honest, I want to explore the driver (and might ended
experimenting with it, just like my habit until now), but I didn't
tell this because if something bad happen in the way, then it'll be
only my laptop that will have problems. I don't want to attract other
people (if any) to follow me messing around with the driver.
but to think about it again, it might be a cruel of me if I hide it
and don't share with the others. so... I'm sorry to you all about not
being honest >_<

I'll be honest now. this is my thoughts:
- your friend installed 945 driver + a version of NVIDIA driver from
an NVIDIA series (which one is done first? @_@)
- by some ways, the driver registry conflict with each other,
resulting the 945 uninstaller to disappear (could be also because
cleaning the registry with some improper tools or improper ways)
- by some ways, there is/there are a/some file(s) used in both drivers
(shared file), resulting driver from 945 is considered broken because
the partially missing file(s), but then replaced with the file(s) from
NVIDIA which is still intact, so the driver is still running OK
- when the NVIDIA driver is uninstalled, the shared file(s) is/are
deleted, the Vista doesn't have any built-in 945 drive, so you have to
install the 945 driver from outside (either SD or MD)

about the last point, I'm not too sure (well, actually I'm not too
sure with all of the points, but considering I don't have any
experience with Vista, so I guess the last one might way too wrong).
does Vista have built-in 945 driver?
