@tribaljet: I'm sorry Bro. There's no way you can extend the memory you can use on an x86 OS. It's more of a mathematical issue with the implementation of the kernel, and modifying the kernel is akin to changing the OS altogether, and will cause system instability. Not to mention the legal issues you'll face if you happen to successfully mod it.
