According to this rule, a "century"-year is a leap year only if the number formed by the two first digits can be divided by four. Example : 1600 was a leap year (16 is a multiple of 4) 1700, 1800, 1900 were not leap years (17, 18, 19 can't be divded by 4) 2000 is a leap year I hope that helps.
