Hi Isabel, 
the university of Trieste, faculty of translation, (Italy) did some
research on software localisation, even though I don't know at what level,
because I have just heard of it from some friends and wasn't involed in it
myself. 
Anyway, you could try and contact them. The person who was in charge of
this was Ms Scarpa, and she should be still teaching in Trieste. 
Unfortunately, the only address I could find is that of the library of the
university, but I'm sure they will be able to tell you more.
