This is not exactly a translation question--but one of my regular
translation clients asked me to proofread 90 pages of printer-ready proofs
in English (in other words, only corrections of typos or ENORMOUS errors
allowed at this stage), of a book I had not been involved with previously.
I do not normally do proofreading as a separate job--does anyone here have
some idea as to what would be reasonable to charge per page (or per hour)?
I realize that rates differ considerably by country (I am in Israel, the
publisher is in the US), but it would be helpful to have some notion of the
market.
Any general guidelines would help. This client is always very fair and
does not usually question my bills; but I want to be fair, too.
Thanks (hopefully) in advance,
Martha Grenzeback
