Meyer & Liechty is a consulting and design firm for global marketing. We
consult, design, translate, and typeset materials for print, multimedia, and
the web.

Were looking for foreign language editing and typesetting resources, in
English, that will help us with our localization projects. Specifically, we
need references that address such things as word division/hyphenation,
capitalization and punctuation rules, alphabetizing rules, etc.

We use a centralized approach to international marketing. Our normal
process is that we design materials in English, then have the text
translated into the languages for the client's market, localizing for the
specific cultures. We then typeset the foreign languages into the English
template. It is at this point that we would like to have some reference of
editing/typesetting rules that will help us submit a better version to the
market representative in the destination country.

Does anyone have or know of any resources like this? We would really
appreciate information. Thanks!

Jane Clayson
