I stopped the service and re-ran the Installer.
It went through to Click "Finish" to complete the installation.
I clicked "Finish and got the error message InterMapper service failed. (1073)
I manually started the service and then started the IM console without error.
Did you remember to close the MMC or Services control panel before running the installer? The error number means that the service was already installed at the time that we tried to install it. Normally, we remove the old service and then install it again, but if the MMC or Services control panel is open, the system won't complete service deletion until they are closed, and the installer will fail when it's time to reinstall the service in the service control manager.
I would check to make sure you're actually running the 4.0.2b2 and not an earlier version. I think you should be, but it's worth checking if you haven't already. (The version is in the panel that first comes up in the Server Settings dialog.)
