I was able to start the service manually.

Hmm. That's the same as when you tried the beta. The strange thing is 
that I haven't changed anything that should matter (and very little 
at all) in the installer since 4.0.1, which I don't recall you having 
trouble with. I added one API call, but it would be called after this 
error stops the install, so it couldn't affect it.

Anyways, thanks for letting me know. If you're up and running okay, 
I'm not going to worry too much about it, only because future 
versions will use a different installer that won't require my custom 
code tacked on to the end.

If you're not up and running okay, you should just need to go into 
the Services control panel or the MMC and start the service manually. 
If more seems to be wrong than that, let me know where it stands and 
we can take it from there.
