Hi Jakob,

I don't know about the G5, but the new Intel Xserves feature "lights-out
management" which replaces the old Server Monitor daemon that was used by
the Xserve G5/Tiger InterMapper probes. The current Xserve probes do not
support the new monitoring protocol (IPMI) and will display the error that
you are seeing.

I have two Xserves right next to me, that both return the following  
error. Both are running 10.4.8 Server, one is a G5, the other a brand  
new Intel server.
