Count me in as also wanting Option #3 :)
It might even be nice to have the interface icon flip its color from
the "Network" hue to the "Unknown" hue when it is "down" but in
"ignore". Or would this cause too many complications?
Anyway, thanks for considering the interface behavior setting, since
I think I'm going to have a scenario like Jürgen's very soon...
