Ahh, Janice,
The current & older versions also log to the eventlog when you import
a MIB.. mine does, at least, on OS X... ;-)
As far as I remember, it has done so since the feature was
implemented. Or is it the debug log only? Anyway, it's logged ...

Bennie,
I am wrong about the import MIB message. The successful import
message was
added in 4.6.1b2, so in the next release (4.6.1) you will see that
message.
However, in the current version, a failed import will generate an
error
message, and a successful import will be logged to the Event log:
08/31 13:45:53 impt MIB file 'RFC1213-MIB-rfc1213.txt' imported
correctly

Yes on the build a new probe. I already own a full license for
unlimited devices for IM. I don't need all the wireless probes in
your package. The new radios we bought are the BreezeNET B-B100. I
will probably use the probes I have for my other BreezeNET radios to
build a probe for these also. I have been an IM customer for years
and was one of the heavy complainers when that package came out as
everyone helped with input to make them. Just a rant. We will always
use IM as it is a great product with good support.
Thanks

Bennie,
When you import a MIB successfully, InterMapper will display a
message
"Successfully imported MIB...MIB file <filename> imported".
InterMapper
supports two kinds of OID's: Numeric and Symbolic. The Symbolic
OIDs become
available when a MIB has been imported into InterMapper. This will
enhance
the formatting of the trap data displayed in the Event log (if the
device is
configured to send traps to InterMapper), but it will not
automatically
create a probe for the device. It is useful if you are creating
your own
custom SNMP probes, because then you don't have to enter numeric
OIDs when
creating your probe file. Are you trying to create a custom probe
for an
Alvarion radio? InterMapper does provide Alvarion-specific probes
in the
Wireless Add-On pack.

I just imported a mib file for an Alvarion Radio. How do you know if
it was successful and how do you use it after that?
Thanks
Bennie
