We're looking at this for disaster recovery, etc. So far we have a Windows 2003 server with our main IM. On this server we have VSS running and we have installed Vice-Versa Pro.
Vice-Versa Pro has a VSS client. This means that you can copy open files that IM has locked. So far, it looks good - but we haven't done the acid test yet - shut down the main IM and stand up the standby. But that's going to happen soon. (we have to schedule it of course) Kevin -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Christopher L. You would definitely need to shut down the test server. I think it would be safer if you were to shut down both, to avoid doing the copy while IM is in the midst of auto-saving a map or writing something to the prefs. (If you want to copy logs and chart data, too, you definitely have to shut down both.) -- Christopher -- ================================================ Christopher L.
