I have read the Readme and the commands are unix based. I'm using XP and W2K3
for the server. How do you compile it using windows?

Thanks for all your help.

You don't need check_ping.c; that's a C-language source file. You
need to build the plugins, then take check_ping from the plugins
folder, a subfolder of the folder, created when you untar the
download, which contains all the binaries. So, say you downloaded
"nagios-plugins-1.4.11.tar.gz". You ungzip and untar it to get
"nagios-plugins-1.4.11". Once you've built the plugins, in
nagios-plugins-1.4.11, there will be a folder named "plugins" which
contains the binaries. These are what need to be put in the
InterMapper Settings/Tools folder.

If you're unsure as to how to build the plugins, there is a file in
nagios-plugins-1.4.11 (or its equivalent, depending on the version
you're using) named "README" which explains how to do it.
