The problem is that the Mac OS X installer is *not* Unix clueful. Instead of following symlinks, it will
replace/overwrite them. If we allowed this for /usr, it would render your system unbootable. Hence, our VolumeCheck
script deliberately verifies there are no symlinks at /usr or /usr/local.
