Hello.

A PHP developers view on windows installation: it's screwed as hell right
now. I use apache + php for my developing envoirment on Windows 7. Guys - I
spend 1.5, freaking 1.5 hours setting up apache + php!!! essentially i just
had to download and try multiple binaries for windows to find the right one.
The first time I did that it was two evenings. Now i know that i need a VC9
threaded version and i haveto go to the Perries page to get extensions.
Sometimes you have to fish the google to find some extenension that works
and not fails to load.
To my liking the situation is ridicilous. The manual has to be updated and
windows support should be restored to full strength as it was. Many
developers work on windows because many of us do not have the time or will
to dive into linux and fine toon it and spend weeks finding software that is
adiquite. And mostly windows based software is usually winning in features
and quality, and most importantly - usability. Tried, but had to return to
windows.

Maybe you just don't get that kind of feedback becase internals list isn't
what usually people read. Set up an official forums and people will start to
post.
