It's still breaking it though. If you realise that a house is built badly and could be destroyed by a well-aimed kick, you could just give it a kick and say "ah well, not my fault"; or you could warn the owners, offer help in fixing it, and understand that they might be too busy to do it right away. I don't see why it needs to be such a big deal to ask if this is something we actually need to kick, right now.
