Call for Applications Type: Postdoc Fellowship in Social Justice and Welfare Institution: Institute for Global Studies (IGS) Location: Paris (France) Deadline: 15.5.2011 __________________________________________________ A post-doc fellowship is offered at the Institute for Global Studies newly created at the initiative of Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme in Paris. The fellowship is attached to Marc Fleurbaey's Program on Social Justice and Welfare. Applicants should have a PhD in economics, philosophy, or political science. Research projects focused on welfare economics, social choice theory, public economics , social justice, health, inequalities, and poverty, will be considered in priority. The post-doc fellow will be based in the IGS and will be given the opportunity to develop links with other research institutions in Paris as well as with Princeton University. In particular, the fellowship covers the cost of spending one month per year in Princeton. The fellow is expected to actively participate in the organization of a quarterly one-day workshop on social ethics and an annual two-day workshop. The duration of the fellowship is 18 months to three years depending on the research project.
