I had the experience of using the ^FIX utilitiy (DSM version of ^REPAIR) in a DSM system. All the database problems were caused by one of the following: - not having BIJ (Before Image Journalling) configured correctly - over anxious programmers with privileges using STOP/ID in VMS (this is a problem with VMS and not DSM or Cache) - some other extra-ordinary actions by someone who should have known better I have have never seen Cache or DSM have a database problem wihen everything was installed and working correctly and someone was not messing with the system.
