Any one got any knowledge about Java applets and security ( remember I haven't intentionally changed anything and definitely nothing has changed on the clients)
Standard issues that I'm aware of:
- Applets are only allowed to connect back to the server that served them, unless they are digitally signed
- AFAIK, no VM is still smart enough to pick up the operating system proxy settings, hence if the applet tries to connect (even if it's back to the same server) and it needs the proxy settings, unless the programmer has supplied this information it will fail. NOTE: if you use something like MS Proxy Client for ISA Server this is not an issue, because that intercepts all network connections precisely to avoid having to configure each application separately
Unfortunately these issues do not apply or are covered by your statement that nothing has changed on the clients.

(but I insist you should check the file permissions on the applet's .class file(s) :) )
