Previously I was able to run both the pre-compiled version of HelloIOIO and
one that I compiled myself. In the process of trying to fix the issue, I
updated the firmware to 5.00/5.03, to see if that would fix it. Some more
information, this morning, after letting it "rest" overnight, I am now able
toggle the LED with HelloIOIO, but only with one of my phones (HTC
Incredible - 2.3.4), but not with the other (Samsung Galaxy S3 - 4.3). I am
not sure any more if this is a hardware problem or if this was caused by
the firmware update. I tried both 3 and 5 versions of the pre-compiled
HelloIOIO app on the Galaxy, but neither worked.
