Yes, add this to my wishlist to everyone else (in the same group with the fancy drawing engine). I'm personally not going to write such a thing, but it would be nice to have.

Can one of you clarify what this would do? Do you mean something that would take lua functions (as text) and import it into some file so it would become part of your configuration? If so, is the intend to be able to take scripts like those available on the ion3 webpage and import it into your configuration?

Yes. Here is what I thought:

I imagine different Programs:
* Key combination editor
* Menu editor
* Kludges editor
* Graphics editor

And I imagined eg. the key combination editor to look something like this:

There is a List with all "installed" functions (displayed with a description, not the code. This is thought for "normal" users. "installed" is everything that has a key shortcut or that is in a menu). Example:

|Switch frame focus to the right (creation)
|Switch tab focus to the left (wrap)
|Exchange frame to the right
|Firefox
|...

If selected a better description should be displayed + all key/mouse combinations + where it is in the menus

Examples:
Switch frame focus to the right (creation)
    Activates the frame to the right of the current frame.
    If there is no such frame, a new frame is created.
  Key combinations: FRAME+â (Super+Alt+â)
  no menu entry

Switch tab focus to the left (wrap)
    Activates the tab to the left of the current tab.
    If the current tab is the first tab of the frame, the frame's
    last tab is activated.
  Key combinations: TAB+â (Super+â)
  no menu entry

Firefox
    Starts the webbrowser Mozilla Firefox
  Key combinations: FUNCTION+F11 (Super+F11)
  MainMenu â Programs â Internet â Firefox

(Assuming that the Modifiers FRAME, TAB and FUNCTION are defined in this configuration)

* Key combinations should be changable here (with check for collisions).
* The seperate Menu-editor should be startable from here
* A button "add function" with a new list of availiable functions (I didn't think about getting them from the internet, a list delivered with the program would be sufficiant).
* A button "modify function" which lets the advanced user modify the code.
* Save configuration (menu item)
* Load configuration (menu item) (loads a pre-made or previously created configuration)

The program creates the cfg_* files (and reads them when started)

I hope you get the idea. This is just a rough outline of what I thought. I believe, the focus should be on the "normal" user, but still everything should be possible and as much as possible without having to remember/learn lua.
