fontconfig/xft do not impose you to use antialiased fonts (actually nothing prevents you to use only fixed-size bitmapped fonts with fontconfig without scaling). Xft fonts are "blurry" only in default Debian configuration due to the lack of proper polishing in this area. -- JID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
