I use detach.lua in one case... watching video. Having a small
mplayer window stick in the right upper corner allows me to work
as usual, and I'm able to follow the video.
And I like the fact that the window is visible on all workspaces.
Note that you could have done that with the scratchpad also I think.
I know, but I have other things in my scratchpad which I want to see
via keypress (todo list, calendar).

You can have more than one scratchpad, I think it was a bit easier
before the WScratchpad class was removed (I haven't bothered updating my
scripts for that so I'm still behind) but it is still doable. The
cwin_sp.lua script in the repository is one example,
toggle_named_scratchpad.lua is another (both written by me).
