Yes, it does, since mplayer supports resolving the wildcards itself. Sorry for

Thanks for the tip, I just thought of that myself, and I am trying to 
accomplish that, but have not managed it yet, but ist should be easily 
possible.
And duplication of work is never good, if it can be easily achieved with a 
simple shell script.

I did. I couldn't find anything related to that when just searching for "drag 
drop" in the bodies of all messages on mail-archive.com and MARC.
