I would volunteer to maintain the vim like ones and I'm sure others
would popup to maintain other types. I think this would be great both
for current users, they could just grab the latest version of ion and 
switch to their favorite key binding configuration, as well as new 
users who could choose the environment they are most comfortable with.

definitely, they should just remove the arrows on the keyboard so
programmers aren't tempted to use them.
