I don't see how that's an issue with icloud or dropbox. Both have copies that propagate locally to your machine(s). And once they are stored locally, you still backup, right? So if one day they accidentally push a delete down that you don't want, wake up your laptop and disconnect the network, copy the data safely, or if it's too late - restore!
