ONLY BUY IT FROM THESE PEOPLE.  The cheaper ones you find on Amazon and eBay 
are knockoffs and may have problems.

Note that they require certain modem firmware versions.   

I would certainly try and get AT&T to unlock the iPhone 4.

I wanted to buy one of these before we went to Japan but could not get it in 
time for our trip due to a mix up with the credit card.  But it supposedly 
works.
