I forwarded the original e-mail from Devon, plus the new sms link to one of the accounts I can access from the iphone.
When I received the e-mail I clicked on the link and got into the sms application, with the phone number selected (actually, it was my iPhone number and it show up as my contact entry, and the keyboard open.
