It's something we've been working on at Grabb.it, and it seems there is no Javascript / event support from the quicktime plugin yet. Javascript support for Quicktime is tops on the list of features for a lot of developers, so hopefully we'll see something soon from Apple. Currently the best option is to just link to the mp3 file.
