For the iPhone, what I have done is quite simple. Go to Settings/ Safari/Databases/Edit and delete the database for a particular site. For Vicki Murley's answer on the Apple forum, go here: https://devforums.apple.com/message/156385#156385 It seems to me that the desktop Safari version should have a delete function as easy as the one on the iPhone.
